PHOTOGRAPHY INSPIRATION: THE ENCLAVE by RICHARD MOSSE
16mm infrared film was used to capture these magnificent images. What would normally be green, infrared film shot in daylight creates a magenta hue. I was drawn to The Enclave with it's vibrant colours, and Mosse distorting the perception of what colour landscape photographs should be. Looking at the images, fantasy-like wonder and awe are the thoughts that come to mind. The contradiction of subject and landscape is anything but beautiful.

At the heart of the project, as Mosse states, is an attempt to bring “two counter-worlds into collision: art’s potential to represent narratives so painful that they exist beyond language, and photography’s capacity to document specific tragedies and communicate them to the world."
