ART: LONDON

The Tate Modern - London United Kingdom

There is so much to pay respect to at the Tate Modern along the River Thames. Artist and their artworks took me back to when I was studying during high school. From the legends, Picasso, de Chirico, Monet to Russian Revolutionary Posters. I am always in awe and could have spent the rest of my trip in the four levelled gallery looking at every piece of work and visiting the gift store of course.

ANDREW RAE

THECRUZCOLLECTIVE_Illustrator_AndrewRae1_660x1200 THECRUZCOLLECTIVE_Illustrator_AndrewRae2_660x1200

I first saw Andrew Rae's work while I was living in London 2009. I went on a art gallery crawl in Shoreditch and Bethnal Green. I spotted one of his prints at Concrete Hermit's Gallery Opening - I even had the photo of the print (click here to see).

It was a mono print illustration of different characters, all with something humorous about them. I spent a while just staring at the print, reading and imagining the different narratives that each character had and how they related to each other. I was in love!!

My last year living in London I went to the Somerset House for the 'Pick Me Up Exhibition'. Andrew Rae had his work presented alongside his Illustration Collective 'Peepshow'. I fell in love with one of his prints - and bought one! I even met the real deal and took a snap shot with him!

Andrew Rae's illustrative style takes me back to University during my Illustrative classes doing comic narratives. He's my inspiration!

Richard Mosse: The Enclave

Richard Mosse: The Impossible Image from Frieze on Vimeo.

To follow up from Monday's post on Richard Mosse's The Enclave, here is video about the work via vimeo- it was the editors pick and rightfully so. Watching this interview added a new dimension on how I view Richard's photographs, I still find the images and film to be beautiful, despite the subject matter. I really hope this installation will be shown in the 2014 Sydney Biennale. Fingers crossed!

The MCA

The Museum Of Contemporary Art is a place to visit!

It's flashy new look, more space and has one of the best views of Sydney Harbour from the Cafe/Restaurant.
